How do I donate furniture?

Every day, Guilford County residents throw away furniture that can change a family's life. We need your gently-used household items! Your donations are tax-deductible. You can drop them off or schedule a free pickup or a paid priority pickup through our third-party partner ReSupply.

We are helping our clients restore their dignity and self-worth, so we ask that all donations be free of stains, tears, pet hair and smoke and in good working order.

Our drivers and warehouse employees reserve the right to refuse any items that are deemed unusable. Please don't be offended if an item is declined. We celebrate your generous spirit, but not all donations fit what our clients need, and our employees are familiar with our current needs and inventory levels. Also, in an effort to be good stewards of your donation, we may on occasion sell items of significant value to fund our operations. We thank you for your support!

How to make a donation

  • Drop off your gently used furniture at our warehouse at 838 Winston St. between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday-Friday

  • Call 336-370-4002 to schedule a free pick-up. To schedule a donation pickup, there must be at least one core item (see list below). We do not pick up bonus items only. We always need bonus items! However, if a donation solely consists of bonus items, we encourage a drop off during our business hours. If you have a question about your donation, please call us at 336-370-4002

  • Fill out this donation form to tentatively schedule your own donation appointment

"I love knowing that furniture and household items I don't use anymore won't go to a landfill, but will go to a family that really needs them," a recent donor said. "Now that I've given furniture to Barnabas, I can't believe it when I see people put furniture and mattresses on the street for trash collection! The Barnabas concept is so simple and meaningful: recycle furniture and restore lives."
