We are SO excited to share the news that we've been awarded a $2,500 ANDMORE Community Grant! These critical funds could not have come at a more perfect time for Barnabas. Just last week, we opened the doors on our High Point location, so this ANDMORE support will go toward our free delivery program to ensure that 33 High Point households who need it will have access to our service. Thank you, ANDMORE, for your commitment to giving back and providing a helping hand up.
ANDMORE owns and operates 17 properties spanning 6.8 million square feet throughout High Point Market. Its properties are a hub for new and innovative products and mainstay bestsellers. Retailers, designers and other industry professionals can source premium furniture and décor throughout ANDMORE showrooms.
“We’re incredibly grateful for ANDMORE’s support of our mission,” said our very own Executive Director Derrick Sides. “This funding will make an immediate impact at our High Point location and go a long way in helping us ensure that every neighbor has a place to sit, a place to eat, and a place to sleep."
This grant means a lot to us.

We have one program of work here at Barnabas: providing essential home furnishings at no cost to people who need it. Since 2006, Barnabas has served as the Triad’s only nonprofit furniture bank. We collect more than 15,000 pieces of furniture that people don’t need and we give it to neighbors who are transitioning out of homelessness, overcoming major obstacles, resettling, fleeing violence, and/or breaking the cycle of poverty. And we do this at NO COST to the client . . . almost. You see, we charge a $75 delivery fee to take the furniture to the family’s home when needed. If someone has just overcome adversity and successfully made a fresh start, they have almost certainly exhausted their financial strengths in doing so. Rent, deposits, food, and clothing cannot wait, so furniture is put on the “we’ll see” list. Seventy-five dollars can make or break access to our program for someone who has no other way to transport their furniture home.
The past few years as we have grown and expanded as an organization, we have been laser focused on removing barriers wherever and whenever we can. For us, delivery was the last remaining, and most unnecessary road block. We've had several key funders step up to cover delivery fees, but the need is constant. Now that we're physically in High Point, this ANDMORE grant is a game changer.
Our High Point expansion is complete. That means we're a furniture bank in the Furniture Capital of the World. We're pumped about this, and we're eager to deepen our connections within the furniture industry to raise awareness about furniture poverty and how together we can end it. ANDMORE joining our team of supporters feels like a dream. Here's to recycling furniture and restoring lives!
