We've Expanded: Barnabas High Point is Open!

You know that feeling when something you've dreamed about and planned for finally comes to fruition? It feels awesome, right? That's where we're at right now. We are SO happy to tell you that Barnabas now has two locations in order to better serve clients, agencies, and furniture donors alike. As of this week, in addition to our Greensboro warehouse, we are now officially recycling furniture and restoring lives with a brick-and-mortar Barnabas in High Point!
Come see our new digs at 2020 W. Green Drive, High Point, NC 27260. For now, we'll be serving clients out of High Point on Mondays, and the warehouse is open for donation drop-offs Tuesday-Friday 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Stop in. Let us take you on a tour. Bring a friend!
Barnabas has been serving High Point and surrounding areas since our 2006 founding. Over the past few years, we've found ourselves meeting a rising need and becoming increasingly focused on eliminating barriers for people to access our service. We brainstormed. We made a vision board -- and at the center of it was a physical warehouse in High Point, which would open up a key access channel for 1)High Point residents in need of furniture, 2) High Point-based partner agencies, and 3) transformational relationships with furniture retailers and manufacturers.
So, we got to work. Thanks to early and crucial funding from The Foundation for a Healthy High Point, our dream became a plan. We met with key stakeholders, held events, and raised awareness about our mission and the unique role we fulfill addressesing the issue of furniture poverty here in the Triad. The High Point Community Foundation saw the need for Barnabas High Point and funded the action phase of our expansion. The Tannenbaum-Sternberger Foundation awarded us a High Point-specific matching grant. Our top donors came through, as always. Barnabas High Point is the result of a massive and passionate team effort.
Our first High Point shopping appointment was everything we hoped it would be. The 2020 W. Green Drive Showroom was stocked with gorgeous pieces from our wonderful Bespoke sponsor Shannon Lee Furniture & Decor — and the end result was a box truck full of essential home furnishings that will allow a family to focus their energies on making a fresh start after overcoming major obstacles.
We're excited to have a physical footprint in both Greensboro and High Point. Two Barnabas locations means enhanced accessibility for everyone. We're one of approximately 90 furniture banks nationwide and more fired up than ever before to eradicate furniture poverty here in our community. We have this down to a science and we love what we do. And now, in our 19th year of operation, we're proud to be a model furniture bank, YOUR furniture bank, in the Furniture Capital of the World.
